You will need some wooden "dolly" pegs - buy these either from an old-fashioned hardware shop, or from "The Works", who do packets of them with stands for around 99p - "angel hair" floss; white, silver or gold pipe-cleaners; and scraps of white cloth, netting or old net curtain, wired ribbon and gold or silver cord. A glue gun is helpful, but PVA works OK. Oh, and a needle & light-coloured thread, and a couple of felt-tips!
Wrap a pipe-cleaner around the "neck" of the peg, twist to secure and trim to size to form arms. Wrap a small tube of white cloth around the peg & stitch lightly in place over the "arms". Cut a piece of net about 15 cm wide & deep to make a skirt; run a line of tacking along one edge & pull tight to "gather" it round the "waist" of the peg, then stitch into place & trim. Using a piece of ribbon at least 45 cm long, wrap around the "waist", and tie in an extravagant bow - these are her "wings". Make a little halo with the pipe-cleaner trimmings, and glue some "angel hair" onto the "head", then glue the halo on too. Draw in a little face, then wrap the cord behind the waist, cross over in the front and tie in a reef knot behind her "head" then a loop to hang her with.
