You will need some walnuts, some gold acrylic paint, glitter glue or sequins, glue, tinsel & thread.
Shell your walnuts by inserting a sharp knife at the end and twisting; you should find that most split easily, leaving the half-shells intact. Eat the insides, then paint the shells gold. When they're dry, dab splotches of glitter glue on the outside & leave to dry again. (You could stick sequins on instead.) Then tie some thread in a loop, and stick it inside the top of the shell to form a loop to hang it from, then glue a scrap of tinsel on the inside. These look very effective hanging from a tree, but could just as easily form part of a mobile.

A slightly better view of the insides. This camera doesn't "do" shiny things very well... |
